welcome
Welcome to the Bayside Bounty Recipe Book Blog. This is the best place to visit to get the latest news about this fantastic project.
In brief the concept is to collect recipes from local Melbourne Bayside restaurants and cafes, create a recipe book, with the proceeds of sales going to Sacred Heart Mission and ShelterBox.
The charities:
Sacred Heart Mission is located in Grey Street, St Kilda and provides many varied services including shelter, meals, medical assistance, counselling support, aged care and women’s programs. Last year, the dining hall provided 137,099 meals - that’s 375 meals per day.
ShelterBox is a disaster relief program created by the Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard and all aid is distributed from Cornwall in the U.K. A ShelterBox is a tough, green plastic box containing a 10-person tent and ancillary equipment designed to enable a family of up to 10 people survive for at least six months. ShelterBox has had recent deployments in MyAnmar (Burma) after Cyclone Nargis and China after the earthquake.
Project management:
This project is being managed by the Rotary Club of St Kilda. If you would like to be involved simply email us at: pr@stkildarotary.org.au. We are currently looking for Recipe Contributions from restaurants and cafes, as well as Project Sponsors to help fund the printing of the Recipe Book.
