CLUBS
If you become a member of Rotary, you become a member of a specific club such as St Kilda Rotary. St Kilda Rotary is part of Rotary International.
St Kilda Rotary contains its own officers and like all other clubs enjoys considerable autonomy within the framework of Rotary’s constitution and bylaws.
DISTRICTS
St Kilda Rotary is a member of District 9800. There are 532 RI (Rotary
International) Districts worldwide, each led by a District Governor.
RI BOARD
The RI Board contains 19 Directors, which includes the RI president and
president-elect. The RI Board meets quarterly to establish policies.
The RI President is usually responsible for developing a theme and
emphasis for the year ahead.
THE SECRETARIAT
Rotary International Headquarters is in Evanston, Illinois, USA. There are seven international offices in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Japan, Korea and Switzerland. In addition to this there is an office of RI located England to service the clubs and districts in Great Britain and Ireland, The Secretariat’s chief operating officer is the RI general secretary, who heads a 650-member staff working to serve Rotarians worldwide.
